These instructions apply to newly registered domains with CloudDNS. For existing domains, you can find the instructions at: Setting Up Your Own Nameservers (Existing Domains)
Before making changes to .de domains, check that your entries are configured according to DENIC requirements. You can use the following tool: Predelegation Check — DENIC (external link)
1. Creating a Nameserver Set
- Log in to the Customer Control Panel (CCP).
- Select the Nameserver sets menu item.
- Click Create at the top right.
- Enter a name and a description.
- Set your desired DNS records and confirm by clicking Save.
2. Using Your Own Nameservers
Make sure you store redundant nameservers. Configure the nameservers so that they report back that they manage the domain.
- Go to the Domains menu item.
- Click theMagnifying Glass Icon next to the desired domain.
- Go to the Nameserver tab.
- Select Use your own nameservers from the drop-down menu.
- Select a nameserver set.
- Click Save.

It takes up to 48 hours for global DNS servers to implement changes.
DS entries are not supported.
In your nameserver set, select the checkbox next to Activate GlueRecord and enter the glue records underIPv4 Address and IPv6 Address.
Please contact your nameserver provider. You can only enter the nameservers once they report back that they manage the domain.
- For .de domains, check if DENIC accepts the entries. You can use the following DENIC tool: Predelegation Check — DENIC (external link)
- Check that you have entered two different nameservers. Some TLDs require two different nameservers.
